Calderbrook Woodworking Machinery have a range of beam saws available to buy online from leading European manufacturers including Panhans, Holzher and Zentrex.

Beam saws are used for the cutting of sheet materials and are regarded as the easiest way to cut sheets accurately. They take up a little more space than the conventional panel saw however some of our use beam saws have optimisation packages included which enables efficient use of the board and minimal waste.

There are two main types of beam saws: Front Loading is where the material is fed into the machine from the front and is then draw into the beam saw, and Rear Loading where the material is automatically loaded from stacks at the rear of the saw.

Beam saws nowadays are computerised and often contain optimisation software to give the best yields from materials.

What Is a Beam Saw?

A beam saw, also known as a panel saw, is a computer-controlled cutting machine designed to cut large sheet materials into smaller, usable sizes. Unlike manual table saws, beam saws use a fixed saw blade and a moving support table or pusher system, ensuring consistent, repeatable cuts with minimal operator effort.

Key Features:

High Accuracy: CNC control and precision guides guarantee exact dimensions every time.

Automated Operation: Computerised control allows for rapid repeat cutting with minimal waste.

Clean Edges: Ideal for materials that need to be edged or laminated without further sanding.

Time Efficiency: Cuts multiple sheets at once, improving workflow and productivity.

Types of Beam Saws:

Manual Beam Saws: Basic models with mechanical operation; great for low- to mid-volume use.

Automatic CNC Beam Saws: Fully programmable systems for large-scale production lines.

Vertical Beam Saws: Space-saving designs that stand upright—ideal for smaller workshops.

Applications:

  • Cabinet making
  • Flat-pack furniture production
  • Shopfitting and interior joinery
  • Kitchen and wardrobe manufacturers
  • Any business cutting large sheet materials to size

Why Choose a Beam Saw?

Beam saws are the go-to solution for companies that need to:

  • Improve cutting accuracy
  • Reduce labour costs
